Does ControlType collect any data?
No. ControlType processes everything on your device and never transmits audio, transcriptions, or any personal data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Why does ControlType need Accessibility permissions?
Accessibility access is required to detect your active text field and type transcribed text into it. The app does not read, log, or transmit any existing content from your applications.
Does ControlType work without an internet connection?
Yes. The Whisper speech recognition model runs entirely on your Mac. ControlType makes no network connections at all.
